Physical Science (7th-9th)

Through Apologia’s Physical Science students get an introduction to properties of matter, atomic structure, the periodic table, chemical bonds, and more. I enjoy hands-on experiments more than lectures. So, I hope to have more short discussions and lots of hands-on science experiments, with a few quizzes, and a final question/answer test based on the semester’s experiments. I am a flexible teacher – I appreciate that there are many ways to learn.  If a student wants to propose an alternative to the final, I’m willing to listen to the suggestion.  In fact, in one of my classes, a student who didn’t want to do the final instead wrote a song and guitar presentation of every chapter in the book and got an A!

Parents of 7th graders: Before signing your child up for this class, review the text book online to confirm that your child can handle the course material.  It may be too advanced for some 7th graders, but just right for others.  You know your child best.
