ACTIVITIES & EVENTS
At EUREKA!, we encourage our community members to meet up and hang out! So here are both ongoing and one-off activities and events which aren’t always “officially” part of our homeschool co-op, but which many of our students and families attend throughout the year. Feel free to contact those involved or reach out to us to learn more!

THEATER & FILM
Storytelling in any shape or form is a life-giving transformational experience – inspiring our thinking and stirring our imaginations. It helps us empathize with others and allows us the freedom to laugh or cry along with the performers. Check this space throughout the year for the list of plays, movies, and comedy shows we plan on seeing. We look forward to verbally processing with you at intermission or after the show! While we see these particular outings primarily for our high school students, mature students in younger grades are encouraged to attend with their parents. (NOTE: Most of these are not faith-based companies, so we don’t necessarily agree with ALL the content they promote on their websites!) Email Autumn for more info!
A Noise Within
Theater Company in Pasadena
We are HUGE fans of A Noise Within Theater! Superb casts perform in numerous classic plays throughout the year. Discounts for home educators are available. Specific plays posted here will (hopefully) fit the needs and interests of our community. But we encourage you to check out their other offerings. (Some shows may not be entirely appropriate for younger viewers – they may be kinda PG-13 – so use your discretion!) Check their website for more details.
COMING IN 2025-2026:
RICHARD III – Spring 2026 (exact EUREKA! outing date/time TBD)
The hunchback villain returns! Join us next spring when we’ll boo and hiss the infamous King Richard the III as he exclaims, “A horse, a horse! My kingdom for a horse!” during the Battle of Bosworth. One of Shakespeare’s more dastardly romps! (link for show: https://www.anoisewithin.org/2025-26-season-songs-from-the-volcano/)
Actors Co-op
Theater Company at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood
This absolutely FANTASTIC acting company comprised of believers in the heart of Hollywood has been around since the 1990s. Their productions have never ceased to impress us, inspire us – and make us laugh out loud! From 1930s screwball comedies to Shakespeare to original content, every show is a class act. For more info, check out their website.
Shakespeare in the Park
Independent Shakespeare Company in Los Angeles
The Independent Shakespeare Company offers FREE performances of Shakespeare plays in Griffith Park throughout the summer. They also offer year round Shakespeare at their theater as well. To see what shows are coming up next, check out their website!
LOVES LABOR’S LOST in Griffith Park begins June 25th! To see who’s going from EUREKA! and when, email Autumn.
ART OUTINGS!
Art inspires and invigorates us — and nourishes our souls! After all, God is the Divine Creator, and takes beauty seriously. At EUREKA! we put a priority on the aesthetic and creative experiences in life, so we feel students should have as many opportunities to immerse themselves in both creating art AND experiencing art in museums, galleries, shows, instillations, or anything else out there! A few times a year, we’ll invite the high schoolers to join us in art appreciation around the So Cal area. (Mature children of younger ages are encouraged to join us, accompanied by a parent.) Email Danica Childs here for more info!
The Getty Museum
Getty Center Museum
This is one of our all time favorites, since it offers a vast selection of modern and classic art, gorgeous gardens, spectacular views (on clear days), and is FREE! Check out their website!
