Latin Dance & Etiquette - On & Off the Dance Floor! (High School)

The Aguilars consider the opportunity to teach homeschooled students the artistry of dance and the importance of etiquette, on and off the dance floor, an honor and blessing. Dance floors are vibrant social spaces where proper etiquette ensures that everyone can have a memorable and enjoyable time. Whether a beginner or an experienced dancer, understanding the basics of etiquette enriches not only one’s own experience but also that of others.

By mastering these skills, tweens and teens can build a strong foundation in manners and social grace that will benefit them for life. These lessons will enhance their current interactions while preparing them for meaningful personal and professional relationships in the future.

Exploring Latin dance offers an exciting and creative way to express oneself while developing rhythm, coordination, and social confidence. Each style of Latin dance has its own unique charm, and we’ll focus on learning some of the most popular forms:

Salsa: A spirited and dynamic dance rooted in Afro-Caribbean music.

Bachata: A romantic style from the Dominican Republic, characterized by smooth steps and flowing hip movements.

Cha-Cha: A lively and playful dance featuring syncopated rhythms and quick footwork, often performed to upbeat tunes.

Merengue: A fast-paced, straightforward dance also originating in the Dominican Republic.

These dances provide a delightful way to foster self-expression and social connection while embracing rich cultural traditions.
