Nature Journaling (5th-12th)
Learning to use the tools of an artist to capture the essence of the world around us is a technique used for generations to understand and share the world we each inhabit. We will learn techniques for portraying things we might otherwise miss.
In Class:
We will learn tools for drawing and watercoloring simple shapes and breaking down an animal, plant, or other interesting object into simple manageable form to reproduce what we are observing.
Between Classes:
The students will have a few ‘loosening up’ exercises, a few minutes long, to help them gain confidence in representing what they are looking at as well as at least one drawing that they spend at least 20-30 minutes or more on adding curiosity details.
All art students will have the option of participating in an Art Opening /Reception for friends and family at Azusa Pacific University’s Duke Gallery in May.
COST:
$200 per semester for private pay
$250 charter funds through Protege Education
