What do ALL scientists have in common? They all have a scientific habit of mind. No matter what field of study they’re in, all scientists use the same seven concepts to understand their work. And these concepts are all around us. Your kids are probably already thinking like a scientist without even realizing it!

The seven key concepts are: pattern, structure/function, cause/effect, scale, systems/system models, energy/matter, and stability/change. Each concept will be developed and understood through discussion, games, hands-on activities, art projects, and the work of scientists and artists. At the end of this year, your student will have the conceptual mindset and common language of all scientists.
