EUREKA! Productions Presents

Shannon Baer, Autumn Cornwell, and David Potts are excited to announce the creation of EUREKA! Productions, a dynamic opportunity for students to jump into the world of theater to act in plays – and even help produce them – as well as participate in other forms of live entertainment. Classes will be held on Mondays in the Fellowship Hall on the EUREKA! Campus, beginning in Fall 2026. To begin, we’re producing two stage plays with the aim to add more classes and productions in the future. This coming year, we’ll be presenting a High School Play in the First Semester and a Junior High Play in the Second Semester.

If you have some acting experience already, we invite you to fill out the interest form for either the High School Play or the Junior High Play. We’ll be contacting you in the near future for further steps and registration information.

PLEASE NOTE: Because these are plays, they have limited availability. If we receive more interest than spots, we will be holding auditions.

Laughter is the best medicine, so let’s give the world a shot in the arm!

This fall, EUREKA! Productions invites intermediate to experienced high school actors (9th–12th grade) to dive into the fast-paced, high-energy world of a full-scale, three-act comedy. From the first table read in September to the final punchline in December, you won’t just be acting—you’ll be mastering the serious business of making people laugh.

The Craft: Comedy is all about precision, so over the semester, students will sharpen their theatrical toolkit with a focus on comedic timing, physical humor, and vocal dynamics. We’ll go beyond the basics, diving into advanced character analysis to ensure every “bit” is grounded in truth and every reaction hits its mark. Whether you’re a natural wit or a novice performer, you’ll develop the discipline required to carry a nuanced performance across three acts.

The Process: From script to stage, this isn’t just a class; it’s a professional-style rehearsal process. As a member of the EUREKA! ensemble, you’ll experience the complete staging of a three-act production:

Casting & Table Reads: Analyze the script’s structure and find the unique voice (and comic “hook”) of your character.

Blocking & Rehearsal: Experiment with blocking, the beats of entrances and exits, and the rhythm of the ensemble.

The Performance: Everything leads to our end of semester production. You’ll put your stamina and timing to the test in a high-stakes, high-reward performance for a live audience. Experience the adrenaline of hearing the first laugh and the pride of a standing ovation as you showcase the teamwork and artistry built over the semester.

Step out of the wings and into the spotlight. Join EUREKA! Productions this fall and help us bring the house down!

JUNIOR HIGH PLAY – SECOND SEMESTER
January – May | Grades 6th-8th
EUREKA! Campus, Fellowship Hall
Mondays from 10:00am-12:00pm, with additional rehearsals from 12:30pm-2:00pm later in the semester
Performance Date: in Second Semester TBD

Time to break a leg!

Want to step into the world of theater to experience everything it takes to bring a story to life on stage? Then this is the class for YOU!

Students will explore the basics of acting, including the power of voice, expression, movement and character development, all while building their confidence and teamwork skills. Through fun theater games, improv activities, and short scenes, everyone will get comfortable performing and thinking creatively. (Creators & Thinkers, anyone?)

As the class progresses, students will work together to rehearse and produce a play. From casting to memorizing lines and blocking scenes, they’ll learn how a production comes together behind the scenes. There will also be opportunities to explore staging, costumes, props, and even some technical aspects giving students a well rounded theater experience.

We’ll end the semester with a performance in front of a live audience, where students can showcase their hard work and talents upon the stage!

Semester Tuition: $300
