Arts and Culture (8th-12th)

This Arts and Culture course provides an exploration of the evolution of the arts throughout history, focusing on key artistic movements, historical contexts, and influential creators across various disciplines. Students will engage with the rich tapestry of visual art, music, architecture, and crafted objects, from ancient civilizations to the contemporary era.

Through lectures, readings, discussions, and hands-on projects, students will develop a deeper understanding of how the arts reflect, shape, and challenge societies. We will explore different periods in history, such as Ancient Egypt, the Renaissance, Romanticism, Modernism, and beyond, examining the lasting impact of art in both Western and non-Western cultures.

In addition to theoretical exploration, students will engage in hands-on projects that mirror the artistic techniques and mediums of different periods. The course culminates in a final exhibition where students present their original works inspired by the diverse artistic traditions studied throughout the semester.
