Fernando and Mireya Aguilar share a passion for dance which complements their love for one another. Fernando first became fond of country dancing, and later expanded to many other forms of dance after meeting Mireya, who as a young girl, studied Ballet, Folklorico, Tango, Flamenco, and many other Latin dances. Since then, Fernando has studied Latin ballroom dances and Salsa, which he has taught for 25 years. Together, they taught Salsa (at all levels) for 16 years at The Dance Family Studio in Pasadena.

Whether hosting private dance parties, teaching a bride and groom their first wedding dance, or choreographing special event dances such as Quinceañeras, Fernando and Mireya’s decades of experience, passion and boundless enthusiasm comes through when teaching those skills to others. Most notably, together they lead “Steps 2 One Ministry” — a series of entertaining sessions for those seeking to strengthen their marriage relationship.

The Aguilars consider the opportunity to teach homeschooled students the artistry of dance and the importance of etiquette, on and off the dance floor, an honor and blessing. Dance floors are vibrant social spaces where proper etiquette ensures that everyone can have a memorable and enjoyable time. Whether a beginner or an experienced dancer, understanding the basics of etiquette enriches not only one’s own experience but also that of others.

By mastering these skills, tweens and teens can build a strong foundation in manners and social grace that will benefit them for life. These lessons will enhance their current interactions while preparing them for meaningful personal and professional relationships in the future.
