Life Stance (9th-12th)

A person’s life stance, or lifestance, is their relation with what they accept as being of ultimate importance. It involves the presuppositions and theories upon which such a stance could be made, a belief system, and a commitment to potentials working it out in one’s life.

This class will focus on expressing ourselves as we discuss big ideas, current events, and biblical worldview. A place for students to grapple with questions and generate answers with an engaged group of peers in order to gain confidence and understanding. In a world filled with rapidly changing cultural trends and complex current events, how do we respond with clarity, wisdom, and truth?

Each week, students will examine relevant cultural topics, news headlines, and societal shifts — ranging from technology and social media to ethics, justice, identity, politics, and entertainment. Through thoughtful discussion and respectful dialogue, we will ask important questions. Students will learn to think critically, evaluate ideas biblically, and engage culture with both grace and conviction.
