Medieval Literature (6th-8th)

This engaging literature class for 6th–8th graders explores the rich world of medieval literature while also incorporating a variety of other classic and age-appropriate works. Students will encounter stories of adventure, courage, and moral challenge, all  while developing a deeper appreciation for great literature.

Each week, students will participate in thoughtful, rhetoric-based discussions that go beyond surface-level understanding. Together, we will explore character development, plot structure, symbolism, and the underlying themes and morals within each text. Students will be encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, and think  critically about what they read.

Homework will primarily consist of assigned reading, with occasional paragraphs, short papers, or presentations to help students express and refine their understanding. These assignments are designed to support learning without becoming overwhelming.

Above all, this class aims to cultivate a genuine love of reading by creating a space where students can engage deeply with stories, ideas, and meaningful conversation.
